While we are all jubilating with lots of praises singing to delta state governor (on local TV) on relative peace in Niger Delta then 'the people' strike again. Beyond all expectations, Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) strike in Bonga deep offshore previously considered to be beyond the reach of the militants.

When are these attacks finally going to end Huh When are we going to join hands together and put Nigeria on path of glory again? Wrongs of decades can't be put right in a day. While federal government of Nigeria must brace up to their responsibilities and development of Niger Delta, the Niger Deltans must let peace reign

What is your view?

Wrongs of decades can't be put right in a day.

but there must be genuine and concerted effort from authorities
to utilizes available funds to develop the area and empower
indigenes of communities where the wealth is taking from.

Is it not funny that millions of dollars are taking from your backyard
and you do not have common clean water to drink?

I believe, if one is engaged in good job/ business and have access
to basic amenities he will employ democratic way to press for his
rights and not agitation or fighting. Let us see (physically where the
13% derivation funds go into.

Those involve know what to do to bring lasting peace

Adeollu is correct, virtually all oil and gas companies
operating in the oil rich Niger delta have been at one
or the other have their facilities attack or staff
kidnapped. This has loss to colossal loss of revenue to
government and oil & gas companies.

It is a terrible situation that even some government
top shots in the area have one of their close family
member kidnapped for ransom payment.

The good news is that the situation is now calm and normal
operations and activities are gradually been normalized
again. The new people in the helm of governments and
NDDC are doing noble to put the situation under control
